The brief

Spectrum Automation is an electrical engineering firm offering industrial automation, energy efficiency and process control services to large manufacturing, pharmaceutical and mining companies. They needed a new website to;

• effectively communicate the nature of their business, the products and services they offer and the scope of their expertise
• educate large industrial business’ about the benefits of energy efficiency and carbon reduction

The approach

To achieve Spectrum Automation's goals, Bea Pierce;

1. Developed an information structure for the site that clearly differentiated the various aspects of the business and ensured that moving around the site was intuitive and simple.
2. Created a design that visually communicated the professionalism and expertise of the business
3. Built the site in Joomla, utilising integrated enquiry forms, Google map and promotional slideshow, and implementing custom-designed, standards-compliant templates
4. Tested the site and ensured SEO metadata was in place throughout the site
5. Provided training in using the Joomla administration tools to Spectrum Automation staff

The end result
